About Frederick Johnson Tennis Courts
Located at W. 151st St &, Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd, New York, NY 10039, Frederick Johnson Tennis Courts operates as a tennis court serving New York in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 8 amβ8 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Frederick Johnson Tennis Courts at (212) 234-9609; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and New York follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Beautiful tennis courts that also has an area for handballers. There's also a path that locals know that leads to a Children's Playground and basketball court. Great place for families to chill and BBQ. Get here before dawn or sunset, you'll get a beautiful view looking into Yankee Stadium.

The courts are in ok condition, and the bathrooms are brand new. They now have a coordinator to ensure that play is limited to one hour per session. No tennis permit is required.

Great courts in a decent neighborhood. Especially in the evening the lights are super bright. Patrol officers stroll around at night time every 2 hours However, sometimes the nets break due to little kids being mischievous. Another thing I noticed, several courts are very hallow like you can sink in several parts. Other than that, courts are decent .
